High altitude French lavender is pleasantly floral with a fresh, sweet and natural aroma. Due to the higher ester content, high altitude lavender is typically preferred over lavender cultivated at a lower altitude.
Lavender oil is the most used essential oil in the world today due to its powerful antioxidant, anti microbial, antidepressant, sedative and calming properties. Known to boost mood, Lavender is used to relieve stress, improve sleep, and reduce anxiety. Lavender is also used to relieve muscle tension in head and neck, pain in lower abdomen and dysmenorrhea associated with menstrual pain.
Uses
- To relieve stress and improve sleep, diffuse 3-4 drops of oil by your bed at night or in the evening while you wind down.
- Add a few drops to wool dryer balls to freshen your clothes or as a linen spray on your pillow and bed sheets.
- For lavender use on minor wounds mix 3 to 4 drops of lavender with coconut oil or tamanu oil. Apply oil mixture with cotton pad to wound. Lavender oil promotes or healing of skin tissue and can also be used to help diminish the appearance of scars.
